What part of the description do you want to hear? Do you want me to tell you that your cool factor will go up once you check in or do you want to hear about how you’ll get a sense of relaxation in the room that will almost make you forget you are in Las Vegas or do you need to hear about how your foodie fantasies will come true at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas? This hotel has so much happening all at once that you almost want to start planning your next visit the minute you arrive. You’ll wonder how you can possibly fit in a visit to the pool, the nightclub, the bars and the spa in such a short time. The restaurants will pose the same dilemma. Imagine a hotel that exceeds your expectations and you have the Cosmopolitan.

Sleep. These are among my favorite hotel rooms in Las Vegas because they are spacious, they are well appointed and they make me want to hang out in the room and invite a few friends up for a drink. The sitting area makes me want to lounge and watch a game on the giant screen television. The tub begs me to soak in the bath with a view of the Las Vegas strip. The biggest feature is the balcony. This is what sets this room apart from anything else on the Las Vegas strip. Go ahead, stand out there morning, noon or night and you’ll just watch as Las Vegas moves all around you.

Eat. This might be the best collection of restaurants on the Las Vegas strip. I’m always excited about Comme Ca because I have a mad mancrush on Executive Chef Brian Howard’s insane kitchen skills. There are few people on the Las Vegas strip that are as creative and talented as he is. You can move in any direction from Comme Ca and have some pretty remarkable experiences. I typically head next door to D.O.C.G. or Scarpetta where Chef Scott Conant’s team delivers each and every night with a top notch culinary experience. The truth is I am so jaded by them that I’m positive I can no longer be objective about their food. What are your other options? China Poblano for a mix of Chinese and Mexican that makes you feel like you just drove into a Southern California strip mall for lunch. (In a very good way) Head into STK for a steak with a side of Las Vegas nightlife and if a burger is what you are craving Holstein’s will satisfy you. There is plenty more but I can’t go on because you’ll be hungry and I’ll be hungry and neither of us will get anything done the rest of the day.

Experience. You’ll want to see the pool but Marquee Nightclub will draw you in. You’ll have to see what all the excitement is about. You”ll also have to spend a few hours at Chandelier Bar. The cocktail program is impressive but the feel of the place should have you sitting around making new friends.

People visit Las Vegas all the time and never leave the strip only catching a glimpse of the desert as they fly in and out of the action. You owe it to yourself to take a tour from Las Vegas to Zion National Park and then on to Bryce Canyon National Park. The geology of this region is captivating and you’ll be greeted by sandstone cliffs and dramatic relief that stems from years of weathering and erosion. If that does not excite you just imagine how many really cool pictures of yourself you’ll be posting on the social networks. You’ll look like the true world traveler you hope to become.

The Hoover Dam Tour
If you have never been to the edge of this engineering marvel you’ll simply be amazed at how much concrete they used to build this monstrosity. Lake Mead sits behind the dam and you can take an elevator down into the bowels of this energy producing machine. It is an engineering marvel and another great place for pictures of you experiencing all of Las Vegas.

Hollywood Tour?
Yes. I know it might sound crazy but if you already decided that Las Vegas is a fun trip why not take a quick trip to Los Angles and do a quick trip of Hollywood? Place your feet in the concrete shoes of George Clooney and see the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You’ll make it all the way to the beach and take a drive down Rodeo Drive. The drive through the desert is just as much fun as you’ll see the desert while riding in a luxurious SUV.

Tour the Las Vegas Strip
Yes, you might have been down the strip a time or two but have you heard all the cool stories? Do you know where all the secret spots are? Do you have your own set of must do attractions and things to do? Well, this tour takes you right down the strip and deep into the details of Las Vegas. You’ll be an expert by the time you finish your journey and soon I’ll be worried about you thinking you can take my job.

Helicopter Tour of The Las Vegas Strip
Soar above the Las Vegas strip as the lights guide you up and down the strip. Your heart races a tiny bit as you feel the helicopter glide past the top of the hotels. You snap a few hundred pictures and you try to capture the moment in your memory. This is a fun ride and one that you’ll think about repeating.

Summer vacation and the kids in Las Vegas. Some people say yes, there are plenty of things to do in Las Vegas for kids and then another segment of the population that would have you believe that all that is bad roams the Las Vegas strip and kids should avoid it. I have two young kids and they have spent plenty of time on the strip and I’m here to tell you that Las Vegas is a great option for a family vacation.
Las Vegas is inexpensive. Food options are plentiful and there are so many things to do with your kids in Las Vegas that they’ll be asking you to stay a little longer.

It’s time to have the kids put the video games down and explore the world around them. Here are 5 spots that you can take the kids to that are relatively inexpensive and just a few minutes from the Las Vegas strip.

Springs Preserve – Bugs, reptiles, rocks and water. The interactive exhibits will intrigue your kids and the space to run around might get you a nap when you get home. Check their website for the special events as they have plenty of reasons to head over even if you don’t bring the kids.
http://www.springspreserve.org/

Weather you are taking a brisk walk along a streambed or scrambling up some sandstone rock formations there are plenty of options for kids of any age at Red Rock Canyon. The visitors enter has plenty of information to help you choose the right hike for you.
Try a Scooter at Red Rock Canyon

Have you ever been inside a real gold mine? Yes, it’s a little creepy when they turn the lights off and the darkness overwhelms you but it’s fun way to learn a little history and fantasize about how much gold is still sitting in the hills at El Dorado Canyon.
Take a Pink Jeep Tour to El Dorado Canyon

If your kids are a little younger check out the Discovery Museum where they’ll be able to touch, squeeze, feel, smell and see the natural and not so natural world around them. Put a time limit on them because they’ll want to stay all day. Personally I love the water exhibits as these always spark the curiosity of my children and the moment they get home they start building their own water systems.
http://www.discoverykidslv.org/

When was the last time you rode a pony or watched a real old west gun fight? Head to Bonnie Springs Ranch to pet some animals, have some lunch or buy yourself a new cowboy hat.

This icon of the Las Vegas strip is right in the center of the Las Vegas strip. It is recognizable because it has been around forever and it constantly cleans itself up to stay current and relevant. Caesars Palace is Las Vegas and if you spend anytime walking through the property you’ll feel the old and the new and everything that makes Las Vegas the spot to visit. It’s luxury mixed up with nostalgia and then blended with the accents that are so Vegas!

Sleep. There are so many room options at Caesars Palace it is very easy to get confused. My personal favorites are the Octavius Tower rooms and their separate check-in and entrance. The newly remodeled rooms have the giant tubs that I always want to soak in to as well as the technology that lets me do everything from my handheld tablet. Picture me making dinner reservations from the tub while watching hockey highlights. Yes, that is what I do when I’m at Caesars Palace. A close second is Nobu at Caesars Palace with its boutique feel and comfortable beds.

Eat. It would take you a couple of weeks to truly appreciate all the good food options at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. I’ll give you the highlights. Spago, have the meatloaf. Beijing Noodle No. 9 , have the hand pulled noodles. Serendipity 3, have the frozen hot chocolate and the heirloom tomato salad. Raos, you have to have a meatball. Nobu, sushi, sushi and more sushi. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, the poutine and the fish and chips and a beer. I could go on but this is literally just the tip of the iceberg.

Relax. The Garden of the Gods pool complex at Caesars Palace is enough for me to just chill out and relax but if I’m indulging in relaxation I have to stop in to Qua Baths and Spa. It is a tiny slice of utopia. The baths, the steam room and then a treatment. The Emperors Treatment is my favorite but I recently had the Nobu Signature Experience and that was enough to regain about 5 years from my life. Yes, it made me feel younger!

Experience. I could tell you about PURE for a place to dance or Celine Dion for a show you should see. I could also talk to you about the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace but then I would lessen the amount of time I should be spending on Absinthe. This is the show that takes the Cirque du Soleil formula and then mixes it up with some adult themes and very creative and talented entertainers to deliver the best show in Las Vegas. All you need to do is come in with an open mind and you’ll laugh harder than you have in a long time. Every seat is perfect in this small theater in the round.

The Experience
Their motto is all about being comfortable. Cocktails, food and sports, as in lets get real comfortable indulging in the things we love. You’ll enjoy the roomy booths or the high top tables all with a clear view of the giant screens. If you are a sports fan this is a spot that makes watching a game with a few people who might not be as into the game as you are pleasurable. There is a pretty decent beer list, not so huge that it is confusing but just large enough to give you some very serious choices. While the room is nice and the atmosphere may on first glance seem subdued you’ll notice a completely different look when games are on. If your team scores feel free to scream because plenty of people will be celebrating as well.

Who You Are Taking To The Restaurant
This is a spot that you can take your friends who have to see a game or your picky eaters who will watch the game but need a good meal. As well. It’s not fine dining but they have taken comfort food and cleaned it up a bit. Don’t get me wrong, they do bar food very well but if you scan the menu you can tell that they are trying to capture the sports fan that does not always need chicken wings and bean dip.

What You’ll Order
The food options have two personalities. Bar food that is salty enough to make you want more beer or the healthy choices that make you feel good about yourself after your team plays a big game. For example while you are having the cheese steak spring roll and the buffalo shrimp your healthy alternative could have been the hummus plate or the grilled steak salad. You could choose the Public House Burger but the healthy choice would be the hickory chicken sandwich.

However, if you just want to watch a game and have some fun order a few beers and snack on the Belgian Mussels, the Kettle Chip Nachos and the Beer Braised Short Rib Sandwich. Who is really counting calories in Las Vegas anyway?

In the widely varied world of shopping on the Vegas Strip, there are many destinations, each with their own offerings, but perhaps only one captures the imagination as a must-see location: the Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes. You’ve heard the fantasy, and I have to tell you, it’s quite true. They really did build a replica Venetian canal inside a shopping mall (on the second floor!), and yes, you can even take a ride on it with a singing gondolier (actually, you can even get married on it, but that’s another story).

There’s also a replica St. Mark’s Square (alas, no pidgeons) with an impressive array of street performers: operatic singers in renaissance garb, “living statues,” artists painting your portrait in anything from cartoon style to sculpted clay, and… oh, did I forget to mention the shopping? Shame on me, because all atmosphere aside, the Grand Canal Shoppes and the adjoining Shoppes at the Palazzo are a great option for fashion shopping, and a few other uncommon things too.

You want names? Banana Republic, BCBG, Bebe are all here (that’s just the Bs!), Marshall Rousso, Herve Leger, Ann Taylor, Dooney & Bourke, Ca d’Oro for jewelry, and a lot of other places you might not know as well, but will be intrigued by all the same.Outside in front, there’s also a massive Sephora.

Men will find a particularly strong array of fashion from understated Kenneth Cole to overstated Lior, can find an outpost of The Art of Shaving, Harley Davidson. Kids will enjoy the big shop simply entitled It’s Sugar (guess what they sell?). And everyone should take a stroll through the amazing Peter Lik galleries to view his uncommonly breathtaking art photography. I mean, it’s free to look.

By the way, if you’re likely to get hungry (who isn’t?), this is one of the better shopping malls for you: there’s a very solid food court here with a Johnny Rockets as well as good salads, deli food, Coffee Bean and Haagen Dazs. I also like the Italian bakery café next to Zefferino. And yes, if you want something more serious to eat, I hope you’re in the mood for Italian (try to decide between Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck), but if not, Canonita’s Mexican fare has always been a good call here too, and of course TAO Asian Bistro is a great way to end the afternoon and start the evening. But that’s another story LINK.

So you say you are a visual person? No worries, Galavantier.com has you covered and it’s time for you to sit back and start watching a few videos that should motivate you to head to Las Vegas right now!

If you are at work you might want to put the volume down and settle yourself in because after these videos there is a good chance that you are going to start feeling sick. You’ll start playing up the flu. A cold. The latest virus. You’ll find something that will keep you from coming in to work on Monday because you’ll be in Las Vegas.

Are you ready?

The concept of a boutique hotel in Las Vegas is odd since most people will find themselves in the midst of giant resorts with endless options and corridors jammed with people looking for the newest, best and brightest thing to hot Las Vegas. That is until you consider Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace. It’s a hybrid boutique hotel. You can find them in Las Vegas as well. TheHotel at Mandalay Bay is another example of a hotel with a hotel. At Nobu you get some serious class and an understated luxury along with all the extras provided by Caesars Palace.

Sleep. The design at Nobu at Caesars Palace is different from what we have come to expect in Las Vegas. The floor plan is different and the open layout makes the room feel very “unVegas.” I like that. I like the space in the restroom as well as the removal of unnecessary walls. I like the way the towels are hung and the magazines are placed. The long couch tempts me to nap but the bed forces me to sleep. It’s understated but the feel is modern with a touch of class.

Eat. If we go with what is strictly available at Nobu then you have the option of Nobu Las Vegas which is one of the best Japanese restaurants on the Las Vegas strip. You’ll get the freshest ingredients and a high energy vibe. I can sit in the lounge all night snacking on yellowtail and sipping cocktails. The real treat is on the room service menu where some truly special food will be delivered to your room. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa has ceated such an impressive room service menu that there is no need for you to ever leave the room. Of course, if you do you can always walk to any of the restaurants in Caesars Palace as well.

Relax. You will walk over to the Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace and have the Nobu Signature Experience. Let me explain to you that you will lose any stress that you have been carrying around. From the moment the warm aroma nectars are drizzled down your spine through the massage oil on your shoulders and then finishing up with the Carboxitherapy on your face you will be released. You’ll look younger, feel younger and be ready to dance like a 21 year old.

Nobu Hotel is located in side Caesars Palace Las Vegas. It has its own check-in located in the center of the property. Use the main valet and then follow the signs to the Nobu Lobby.

It’s not everyday that we get to fly a plane. In fact I have only done it once. However, you should understand that in my one day of flying I learned how to flip it, tumble it, stall it and roll it. In fact I spend an afternoon doing all of this while a trained fighter pilot instructed me to push my own limits. That is the reason to go to Las Vegas. Somehow, in Las Vegas almost anything is possible.

Galavantier.com and I have teamed up to show you exactly what there is to do in and around Las Vegas on the Galavantier Travel Channel. When you see me sacrifice my body for the greater good of your vacation you should know that I do it all for you.

This week take a look at my attempt to become a pilot while my instructor did his best to get me to be an acrobat in the sky.

After watching the video you might be asking yourself if you could possibly pull that off. You could and you should. Sky Combat Ace is minutes from the Las Vegas strip and their staff does a very good job of both making you feel safe as well as keeping you safe. There is a sense of professionalism that I cannot recall ever getting anywhere else. These guys are focused and prepared for anything. They help you have fun but that is secondary to helping you have a safe experience. I’ll tell you that it will take plenty to top this experience.

The entire experience will take a few hours and you’ll be briefed on the various aspects of flying a plane and working with your instructor. By the time you leave the facility your life will be changed.

This week in Las Vegas, May 9 – 12, 2013, you can go off your diet and indulge in one too many cocktails because the food extravaganza also known as Uncork’d will be happening and you will definitely need to treat yourself. This is a four day event that includes some serious eating and plenty of opportunities to engage your inner foodie in some decadence and food education. Pace yourself because four days of heavy lifting at the dinner table can definitely take their toll.

Day one
Thursday, May 9, 2013
I’ll be at the Gordon Ramsay Master Series Dinner but I’m thinking you should be at the Michel Richard Gourmand dinner. I was there last year and spending an evening with Michel Richard is so very fun. He might grab your face and kiss you but you’ll be okay with it because you might be close to a food coma. There is a huge party at Hakkasan at MGM Grand starting at 9pm. See if you can get yourself in. I hear it is sold out but the truth is, there is always a way to get into a nightclub in Las Vegas, right? Find me, and maybe we can walk in together.

Day Two
Friday, May 10, 2013
I’ll suggest that you start your afternoon early with Michael Mina poolside at the MGM Grand. He’ll be talking his new pub, PUB 1842 at MGM Grand and you’ll be trying to balance food in one hand and a drink in the other. Your second option for the afternoon allows you to pick between tea at Mandalay Bay and Mixology at Bellagio. You know what I would choose simply because cocktails in the middle of the day should be the norm for anyone in Las Vegas.

Save a lot of space. Don’t eat all afternoon because the Grand Tasting at Caesars Palace will transport you to the mecca for all foodies. More than 50 chefs will be delivering some great food along with over 100 different wines and spirits to sample, all in one location around the Garden of the Gods pool complex. Get there early and bring a huge appetite because you will be amazed at the food available to you from the best places to eat on the Las Vegas strip.

Day Three
Saturday May 11, 2013
Oysters at Noon at the Mandalay Bay followed by hand crafted cocktail at 2:30 and then another food extravaganza at Bellagio at 8pm. You could do it all in one day and have a food experience that people would envy. If nothing else you have to consider the Bellagio Block Party: Cured, Smoked, Braised, Grilled and Toasted. Oh yeah!

Day Four
Sunday, May 12, 2013
If you can fit in another day of food you’ll have a party with Alain Ducasse at the Mandalay Bay. You can do it.
